Nintendo will launch a successor to the DS within the next 15 months, and likely announce such in the next eight months.  we are likely to see this handheld console in 2011. Sony has recently introduced the PSP Go and Nintendo is set to launch a larger screen DS this year, however, Nintendo has a much more substantial update in mind according to analyst Jesse Divnich from EEDAR. According to Divnich Nintendo will unveil a new DS2 platform in the next 15 months.  The new DS2 is also believed have backwards compatiblity with existing games. The Ds2 console would also use the NVIDIA Tegra platform. Many publishers including Sega, Capcom, and now Ubisoft have all expressed that they may be reducing their exposure to Nintendo’s consoles, which will likely lead to heavy declines in both hardware and software sales for the Nintendo DS.

I don’t think that the DS2 will be an amazing piece of  tech and I also don’t think the ds2 will be much of a difference to its previous models, Nintendo should focus on what the consumers want instead of create a more powerful handheld console, I haven’t been much of a DS fan but to impress the DS2 must have something spectacular that the Sony PSP doesn’t have or any of the previous versions of the DS

Checking your emails and Tweeting your life away will soon all be done from the confines of your smartphone according to analysts.  Gartner dates the ‘tipping poing’ when phones become more popular than traditional desktop and laptop PCs as 2013, when the analysts claim that browser-equipped phones will exceed 1.83 billion, compared with 1.78 billion PCs worldwide. We won’t be dumping our desktops for some time yet though, as Gartner adds that PCs will still be most peoples’ primary browsing device until a few years later at some point in 2015.  (source T3)

I mean I own a desktop, a laptop and a smartphone but yet I prefer browsing the web using a laptop or desktop PC. I don’t no if its the larger screen or the larger keyboard but a PC has always been a personal preference to a smartphone, dont  get me wrong I like browsing the web using a phone however it doesn’t compare to using a PC device. I will not be dumping my PC anytime in the future its just more convenient than a smartphone at times especially updating my blog and website.

Released September 1998, Zelda Ocarina of time is one of the greatest games to be released (my opinion). The game play, the versatility, the story the graphics for the time are absolutely for nominal I mean this game really is a game that will take your breath away.

For those who are unaware of the story, a young boy named Link is tricked by Ganondorf, the King of the Gerudo Thieves. The evil human uses Link to gain access to the Sacred Realm, where he places his tainted hands on Triforce and transforms the beautiful Hyrulean landscape into a barren wasteland. Link is determined to fix the problems he helped to create, so with the help of Rauru he travels through time gathering the powers of the Seven Sages. The game includes shooting arrows, solving puzzles, earning treasures, fighting bosses and enemys  there’s so much to do to complete the game

Ive played this game in my childhood and I can still now go back to this game and enjoy it, its just that good of a dam game (excuse the language) for those who haven’t played the game its a shame and i recommend playing it, this game has been reviewed 10/10 on gamespot what more can I say really I cannot stress it enough. Ive played other Zelda games, twilight princess, majora’s mask, wind waker there good but cannot compare to ocarina of time any Zelda fan will know this.

This game also has a fantasic sound track,  that is played on the ocarnia by link.

All in all this is a fantastic game some may agree some may disagree, I rate this game flawless one of the best aspects is the landscape the riding of the horse (epona) and the travel in time I give my hats of to the developers who made this game and have to give credit where credit is due. I leave my readers with the video below of more game play footage.

3dtv_296x200Panasonic and LG making big strides with 3DHD (three dimensional high definition) screens of fabulous quality. It’s set to be the must-have viewing experience for the future, so keep up to date with all things 3D TV here!

3D TV is set to be the next big thing I mean HDTV in households are becoming generic more more consumers are throwing out there old TVs for HDTVS to show a crisp clear precise picture. Now imagine having a 3D TV in your very own household, it beats going to the cinema or the Imax cinema (Known for 3D viewing’s). The big brands are also working on the viewing of the TV without the use of 3D glasses.

According to reports, Apple is preparing to launch a tablet which will inevitably be called the iTablet or iSlate.  Rumours suggest that the tablet will have 10 or 11-inch touchscreen allowing users to watch movies and television shows, play games, surf the web and even read electronic books and newspapers. The Apple tablet could shape up to be the hottest gadget of 2010. MacRumours is also reporting that Apple has also filed a trademark for the phrase “Magic Slate” suggesting that could be an alternative name and one that fits in with the recently launched touch enabled Magic Mouse launched earlier in the year. (Source T3)

While this is all good I don’t think this will beat a normal generic notebook I mean apple could just release a notebook with tablet options I mean that will just be good as the apple islate, I don’t think this gadget will be a  hot product of 2010.

Whilst the official word is that the PS3 is future proofed enough to be with us for some years yet to come, Japanese sources are today claiming that Sony is working on developing a multi-core central processing unit (CPU) for the PlayStation 4. Nintendo and Microsoft are also reported to be looking at new console CPU technology – although the real surprise would be if anybody actually thought for a second that they were NOT developing their cash-cow gaming hardware. Japan’s PC Watch Impress claims that it takes around 24 months to produce new consoles, with some speculating that we are looking at late 2012 or 2013 any beyond before we see PS4 or Xbox 720 or even Wii HD.
PC Watch Impress adds that we should see new handheld consoles before we see new home consoles, which isn’t much of a claim, as both Sony and Nintendo seem to refresh their PSP and DS range on an annual basis, with the latest PSPgo and DSi XL both currently wowing gamers in Japan. (source from T3)

Reading this extract i believe this is excellent news however creating the next generation console is going to take some hard work to top there previous model, this applies to Microsoft and Nintendo. As a gamer and reviewer i would like to see the next generation being developed and produced I have found some concept drawings posted by gamers and enthusiasts.

I never imagined this would happen but advances in technology has allowed LG to produce a mobile phone into a simple watch, another fascinating product. Combining a wristwatch with a mobile phone, impressive, it has a touch screen and miniature camera for those vital video calls  -  and also sends texts and emails. The LG-GD910 also allows wearers to search the web and download films and music. The gadget will be available via Orange’s network later this year. The watch is just half an inch thick, it also has a glass face and contemporary metal casing.

It will be available on a pay as you go scheme, or SIM-only  for close to £1,000  innovative tech doesn’t come cheap i guess. This gadget looks like a product you will show off to your friends and co workers but i don’t see this phone wristwatch to be a popular product. To see people talking to there wrists will look quite funny I give my hats off to LG to create this product, to have a watch having similar specifications to generic mobiles is very impressive.

This evening browsing the web I came across a page that had a motorbike with rocket launchers and I thought to myself these people are doing some crazy 007 James Bond stuff. I weren’t even thinking of the law implications but just how crazy and bizarre this idea was, I just wanted to see this in action. I mean I’ve seen this sort of thing in films but never attempted in real life, what can I say really but there are some real people out there with balls of steel ready to go to any lengths.

I came across and was very impressed with Microsoft surface. The interaction between you and the product is absolutely amazing is this the future of technology?. I remember looking into this product in 2008 so its not cutting edge but the advancement and innovation in technology is amazing.

So what exactly is Microsoft surface

Microsoft explains” it is a revolutionary multi-touch computer that responds to natural hand gestures and real-world objects, helping people interact with digital content in a simple and intuitive way. With a large, horizontal user interface, Surface offers a unique gathering place where multiple users can collaboratively and simultaneously interact with data and each other” .

I mean i will miss the use of a mouse and a keyboard however this product will do well in leisure, business and hotel industries.

Microsoft have claimed that the Surface has four key capabilities that make it such a unique experience:

  • Direct interaction. Users can grab digital information with their hands and interact with content on-screen by touch and gesture – without using a mouse or keyboard.
  • Multi-user experience. The large, horizontal, 30 inch display makes it easy for several people to gather and interact together with Microsoft Surface – providing a collaborative, face-to-face computing experience.
  • Multi-touch. Microsoft Surface responds to many points of contact simultaneously – not just from one finger, as with a typical touch screen, but from dozens of contact points at once.
  • Object recognition. Users can place physical objects on the screen to trigger different types of digital responses – providing for a multitude of applications and the transfer of digital content to mobile devices.

 Specifications

  • Intel Core Quad Xeon “WoodCrest” @ 2.66GHz with a custom motherboard form factor about the size of two ATX motherboards.
  • 4GB DDR2-1066 RAM
  • 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive
  • Operating system: Windows Vista
